Paying for my natural gas

At firmus energy we want you to be in control of your account so we have created lots of ways for you to pay your fuel bill. Select the payment option that best suits you and your lifestyle.

Direct Debit

  • Direct Debit is the simplest and most convenient way to pay your bill, saving you time and money as your bills are paid automatically. It also means you will receive the greatest discounts available.

Variable Direct Debit

  • Variable Direct Debit means you only pay for the energy that you use. The total quarterly bill amount will be debited directly from your bank account approximately 14 days from the date of issue on your bill.

Monthly Direct Debit

  • Monthly Direct Debit allows you to spread your annual bill equally across the year giving you greater control over your household budget. You can decide when we debit your account; you will be able to choose between various dates throughout the month. We review your payments regularly to keep them up to date with your meter readings.
  • We will calculate your average Monthly Direct Debit based on your annual consumption of natural gas, taking into consideration fluctuations in your usage across the year. You can choose the date in which your Direct Debit is collected every month to suit your cash flow.

Credit Meter Customers

1: Over the counter

  • You can pay your whole bill, free of charge, at any PayPoint outlet or Post Office (cash only).

2: Over the phone

  • You can call the billing team on 0800 032 4567 and pay your bill over the phone by using your debit card.

3: Online

  •  If you are a first time user you can register by clicking on ‘my account’ and submitting your details. Once you are registered click on ‘my account’ to log into our online account service to pay your bill 24/7, from any location.

4: Easy pay scheme
With easy pay you can make a head start on your bills before they come in. The firmus energy easy pay scheme allows you to make payments towards your next bill at any time. Simply take your firmus energy easy pay card and your cash to any PayPoint Outlet. There is no minimum payment. Use the PayPoint Locator to find your nearest outlet.

  • You will continue to receive bills every 3 months showing a list of all payments made and details of any outstanding balance.
  • Remember: Any debit balance on your bill must be paid within 14 days of the bill date.

Moving home

  • If you are moving home, we advise that you try to use up all the credit on your meter. To refund your money we must exchange your meter and this may incur a charge.
  • If you are moving in or moving out of a property, please fill in our
    firmus energy moving forms and a member of staff will be in contact.

Prepayment (Pay-As-You-Go) Customers

  • If you have a pay-as-you-go meter you can pay for your natural gas on a ‘Pay-As-You-Go’ basis. This means that you can pay for your natural gas as you use it, on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis – whatever suits you.
  • Simply take your firmus energy Pay-As-You-Go card to any PayPoint outlet to top up your card. The minimum payment is £5 and the maximum is £49, in any one transaction.
  • To find your nearest PayPoint outlet visit PayPoint Locator or simply look out for the sign.
  • Remember: If you lose your card you can purchase a new one from your local PayPoint outlet at a cost of £4.00
