The applicant can contact any Qualified Installer from the Installer List (“Installer”) to provide a quotation (“Quotation”). The Installer will survey the Property and existing heating system and provide an itemised quotation based on the specification provided by firmus energy. The quotation will include the installation of a new natural gas boiler, heating controls including a smart room thermostat, thermostatic radiator valves and removal of existing heating system. The funding will not include the removal of external boiler houses or the removal of non-standard flues. It is recommended that written quotations are received from a minimum of two Installers.

18. Unless otherwise specified to the Installer by the applicant at the time of receiving the Quotation, the Installer may remove the old heating system from the Property, including any old boiler, oil tank and hot water cylinder.

19. The Scheme does not permit a link-up system to other fossil fuels.

21. The firmus energy advisor will complete the NISEP and gas application form for the installation of the gas meter. The applicant will have to provide proof of name, income, current fuel and tenure to confirm eligibility for the scheme. A copy of the Installer Quotation will be required, to verify the funding amount available. If the oil boiler is broken down, a boiler statement (if applicable) (the “Statement”) must be provided by the Installer to the applicant on company letter headed paper to verify the oil boiler is broken beyond repair. The Installer must provide the make, model and date of oil boiler from the data badge and confirm the boiler fault and the reason for the boiler being beyond economic repair. The Installer must include the name and address of the applicant and sign the Statement.

23. The heating installation cannot commence until the gas meter has been fitted at the Property. The gas meter cannot be fitted until the Installer quotation has been approved and an authorisation number provided to reserve the funding. Once the authorisation number has been provided, a letter or email will be sent to the applicant to confirm the funding amount, before the meter is fitted.

24. The Installer must complete all aspects of the installation including supplying and fitting the natural gas boiler, supplying and fitting radiators/cylinder if required and electrical work including the fitting of controls. The work cannot be subcontracted to a third party.

25. The natural gas boiler being installed has a minimum boiler warranty of two years. The applicant is responsible to arrange a boiler service annually with a Gas Safe registered installer to ensure the validity of this boiler warranty.

26. The applicant is solely responsible for any redecoration or cosmetic costs arising from the heating installation. There is no redecoration grant available. For the avoidance of doubt, neither the Installer nor firmus energy shall be liable to remove the concrete base underneath the old oil tank or reinstate any part of the Property.

27. The Scheme funding does not include the fitting of a recessed gas meter box, the supply or fitting of a cover for an internal gas meter, the fitting of any gas appliances or related pipework, such as a cooker, fire, shower, hob, tumble dryer or fireplace, or the removal of any similar appliance. The Installer may provide an additional quotation for this work but it will not be funded under the Scheme.

28. Funding will not be allocated for a fireplace, removal of a solid fuel back boiler or associated building works.

29. Installation of the gas central heating system must be completed by the Qualified Installer. Installation of the insulation must be carried out by an insulation contractor contracted by firmus energy in advance (the “Contractor”).

30. The Contractor will survey the Property for insulation once the heating installation is completed. Applicants will be eligible for a top up of loft insulation up to 270mm, and/or cavity wall insulation and up to 4 led light bulbs (if required).

31. The Scheme does not include extraction of cavity wall insulation nor does it include a top up of existing cavity wall insulation.

32. Roof tiles will be fitted to ventilate the roof space if loft insulation is installed. Loft insulation will be completed first and roof tiles will be installed at a later date. Ventilation in the form of roof tiles is not available under the Scheme unless loft insulation has been installed under the Scheme.

33. Where accepted for the Scheme, the installation of the new natural gas heating system and installation of insulation at the Property must both be completed. The Scheme is only available where the Property is burning gas within one month of the gas meter being installed at the Property and is subject to the installation of the insulation by the Contractor being carried out within two months of the installation of the gas meter at the Property. Otherwise, the applicant will be liable for all installation costs.

34. Various inspections at the Property will be required both by the Installer, Contractor and a firmus energy inspector before and after the works have been completed. The applicant must provide prompt and unrestricted access at the Property to the Installer and Contractor and firmus energy inspector to complete the inspections. If such access is not provided, the Scheme will no longer apply to the applicant, who will be liable for the full costs of installation.

35. This Scheme cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotional offer by firmus energy or other grant scheme, including but not limited to the NIHE Boiler Replacement Scheme, Affordable Warmth Scheme or 0% finance offer.

36. A change in central heating requires Building Control approval. The Installer will apply for Building Control on your behalf in respect of the change of central heating. Making significant changes to the thermal elements of a property also requires Building Control approval. The Contractor will apply for Building Control on the applicant’s behalf in relation to the change in insulation. The applicant will be responsible for contacting Building Control once the work is completed, to arrange the building control inspection before a completion certificate will be issued by the council for both heating and insulation.

37. This Scheme may apply until the earlier of 31 March 2020 and whenever funds available under the Scheme have been exhausted but may be withdrawn by firmus energy at any time.
