Richhill Community Fete

firmus energy was principle sponsor for this year’s very popular annual Richhill Community Fete, which took place on Saturday 12 September. Hundreds of people descended on the Richhill Community Fete to enjoy live entertainment, craft stalls and much more.

Keith Megaw, Richhill Community Fete said, ‘It was a very successful day for the local village and we were delighted to have firmus energy on board this year to make it that little bit extra special. I would formally like to thank firmus energy for being our principle sponsor for our 2015 Fete. The event was a huge success and attracted many hundreds on the day. Remarkably, despite dire weather warnings, the sun shone and we had dry weather throughout until just after the Fete ended.

‘firmus energy was very generous on the day and it appeared  everyone was walking around with something of other emblazoned with the firmus energy  logo! With your support we were able to host 26 craft stalls in the marquee and a local folk band - Both of these were additions to previous Fete’s and were roaring successes.’

Natural gas pipeline extension

Angeline Murphy, from firmus energy commented, ‘ We recently extended our natural gas pipeline to Richhill, so I’m delighted to get involved with the local community at grass roots level. Giving back to the local communities in which we operate is a big part of what we do at firmus energy.  We appreciate the support of our local residents and businesses as we bring natural gas to properties throughout the village.

‘To date we have successfully brought natural gas to many towns and cities, and in the process have connected over 25,000 customers to our own Ten Towns network and currently supply natural gas to around 76,000 homes and businesses across Northern Ireland.

Benefits of Natural Gas

“Natural gas is piped safely and directly into your property so there are no worries about running out, remembering to re-order, spillages or fuel theft. New natural gas boilers are highly efficient and your heating and hot water can operate independently from each other. With a combi boiler you simply heat your water as you use it, so it’s always available and you don’t have the expense of heating a large hot water tank. Add cooking and tumble drying using natural gas and you’ll see savings compared to doing the same with electricity. And there are environmental benefits too as natural gas produces less carbon emissions than other fossil fuels.’
