£1million+ reasons for 400 householders to connect to natural gas

£1,500 grant to convert your home home to natural gas in Armagh, Banbridge & Craigavon

Over 400 householders can access more than £1million worth of firmus energy ‘home comfort’ grants, which offers owner-occupiers, private renters and landlords up to £1500 grant if choosing to convert their property to natural gas. firmus energy’s new ‘home comfort’ grant initiative was launched in the Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon areas recently by Councillor Darryn Causby, Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council.

The scheme, which is run in association with the Northern Ireland Sustainable Energy Programme (NISEP), means that around 400 qualifying households across Northern Ireland, including those in the Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon areas, can secure a grant of up to £1500 when they install a natural gas heating system.

Switching to natural gas gives a more responsive heating system

Michelle Coleman of firmus energy, comments:

“Converting to natural gas can offer homeowners, landlords and private renters many benefits.  As well as being practical and convenient, it is extremely energy efficient and a more environmentally-friendly fuel source. Switching to natural gas gives a more responsive heating system, more controllable cooking and constant hot water – it really fits around customers’ lifestyles as it is always available and there is no need to remember to reorder it.  Many of our customers choose to have a pay-as-you-go meter which makes budgeting easier and means they never have to find a large lump sum to fill a tank.

“There are a variety of grants available to owner occupiers and private renting tenants converting their homes from various fuel sources, including coal, LPG and Economy7 or even without an existing heating system.  Some properties with oil boilers broken beyond repair may also be eligible for one of our schemes.  The home comfort grant offers qualifying applicants at least £300 and up to a total of £1500 cashback, depending on their circumstances.

Councillor Darryn Causby, Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, commented on the scheme:

“We are very pleased to support firmus energy at the launch of this year’s ‘home comfort’ grant scheme.  Residents in the Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon areas are able to take advantage of this grant to convert to natural gas, which offers householders many great benefits.  I would encourage anyone interested in gaining some extra ‘home comfort’ to apply for a grant sooner rather than later, as there are a limited number available.”
