Northern Ireland’s largest supplier of natural gas, firmus energy, is proud to support Big Energy Saving Week.
The event, which is created in partnership with Citizens Advice, the Energy Saving Trust and the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, is a national campaign which encourages people to save energy while cutting down on fuel costs at the same time.
Throughout the week the Energy Saving Trust promotes the importance of energy saving and provides hints and tips to help people achieve this in their own home.
Prior to the launch the Energy Saving Trust shared their belief that being energy efficient can help reduce household bills, make inroads to alleviate fuel poverty, and create a more sustainable future.
Speaking about the steps we can take to reduce our energy use, firmus energy’s Director of Engineering and Sustainability, Eric Cosgrove, said,

To date, over 108,000 customers across Northern Ireland use natural gas supplied by firmus energy across their Ten Towns and Greater Belfast Networks. Currently, each household connecting to firmus energy can decrease their household carbon emissions by up to 52%*
