firmus energy celebrates receiving Core Certification from Business in the Community (BITC)

firmus energy celebrated gaining their certification to Business in the Community (BITC) CORE – The Standard for Responsible Business.

This is Northern Ireland’s only corporate responsibility (CR) standard and recognises those accredited as leaders in corporate responsibility practice.

CORE enables companies to map their corporate responsibility activity and benchmark it against other organisations in the region. Completing the Standard enables firmus energy to gain a better understanding of our strengths and weaknesses, providing a baseline for further improvements.

CORE is Business in the Community’s framework for identifying and measuring corporate responsibility activity and performance across organisations, designed to work for the type and size of companies that make up the Northern Ireland economy.

Assessment for the standard included the areas of people, planet and place, as well as marketplace responsibility, stakeholder engagement and responsible leadership. Accreditation lasts for two years.
