The Simon Community warmly welcomed a generous £1000 Christmas donation from firmus energy this week.
The donation by firmus energy will go towards the Simon Community's 'Foyer Project', which aims to secure bed-sit accommodation offering in-house training and employment opportunities for those between the ages of 17-26.
Noreen Kennedy, assistant fundraising manager, Simon Community commented, "We are thrilled by the generous donation from firmus energy. Through contributions like theirs, we can respond more efficiently to the needs of homeless people through active initiatives. The 'Foyer Project' aims to offer a holistic service, developing each young adult to the point where they can move to their own accommodation with greater self-esteem, employment or qualifications, an awareness of the services available to them in the community and improved independent living skills. Never are the problems facing Northern Ireland's homeless so pertinent than during the Christmas period but fortunately, Christmas is also a time of giving and firmus' generosity has highlighted that."
Neil Holland, Head of sales and marketing, firmus energy said, "The Simon Community is a fantastic organisation committed to helping those who are less fortunate rebuild their lives without judgement. As a large part of the firmus energy ethos is empathy, we are fully committed to giving something back to the communities we operate in. Homelessness is all too much of a reality these days and it's important to not only recognise the good work the Simon Community does, but play a part in solving the problem."
