The Garvan O’ Doherty Group has signed up two of its busiest hotels to firmus energy, the company supplying natural gas and electricity to businesses in Londonderry and nine other towns across Northern Ireland, to meet its energy needs more efficiently.

DaVinci’s Hotel has made the switch to natural gas and the recently opened Waterfoot Hotel has signed up to both gas and electricity from firmus - making it Londonderry’s first ‘dual fuel’ hotel. By switching to firmus for its energy requirements, the Group’s hotels will enjoy the benefits of competitive energy costs, transparent billing and excellent customer service, as well as significantly reducing their carbon emissions by choosing natural gas.

Alison Moore, commercial development manager, firmus energy commented, “We are delighted to welcome the Group on board as a customer, and are especially pleased to announce The Waterfoot as Derry’s first ‘dual fuel’ hotel. We are the only energy supplier offering businesses throughout Northern Ireland the option of both gas and electricity contracts, providing significant cost saving benefits and the convenience of securing all their needs through one supplier. We are delivering more competitive energy contracts for businesses across Northern Ireland, and have now signed up 200 business customers in Derry. We are committed to open and transparent relationships with our customers. This is reflected in our straightforward billing approach, and we are confident that we can provide our customers with energy solutions which best match their business needs.”

Helen Stewart, sales and marketing executive at The Waterfoot Hotel said, “Signing up to firmus for its energy needs has been a great move for the Group. I’m sure it comes as no surprise that hotels require substantial amounts of energy to operate and never is this truer than during the festive season! In this economic climate, our main objective is to minimise on cost without compromising on quality of service – thanks to firmus’ competitive pricing and online billing, we can rest assured that we are maximising on value from our suppliers in order to give that same value back to our customers. As well as this, The Waterfoot will also enjoy the additional convenience of obtaining all their energy needs from one supplier. On behalf of the Group, we look forward to continuing and extending our relationship with firmus.”
