firmus uses its ‘energy’ to benefit Face Inclusion Matters

firmus energy staff came together to raise £700 for Face Inclusion Matters by participating in this year’s Belfast Marathon. This is the second year that firmus employees have used their own ‘energy’ to raise much needed funds for the charity, which is committed to furthering the personal development of children and young people with and without disability aged 4-25.
Jennifer Lynott, marketing officer with firmus, participated in the relay team and believes that Face Inclusion Matters has inspired firmus staff to embrace a ‘can-do’ attitude with its focus firmly on ‘what you can do, rather than what you can’t.’ “All our staff members have participated in the Disability Awareness Training Programme offered by Face, and in fact we were the first company to qualify for a ‘Face Friendly’ Plaque,” said Jennifer. “Last year we had one relay team in the marathon, and this year we had enough volunteers to enter two teams, so we had a great sense of team spirit on the day. We recognise the value of the work Face carries out through its education and leisure programmes, and we are delighted to be able to help them continue to support the development of young people across Northern Ireland.”
Rainer Pagel of Face Inclusion Matters said, “We are extremely grateful to firmus staff for investing their own personal time in order to raise much-needed funds for our charity. This money will allow us to buy interactive educational materials for our programmes and will enable us to reach thousands of children across Northern Ireland. The firmus marathon runners can be rest-assured that their efforts are greatly appreciated and that the money raised will make a real difference.”
