chamber of commerce annual dinner launched in derry
firmus energy, the company who supply natural gas to Derry, recently helped
launch The Londonderry Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner. This is the third
year the natural gas company has supported this event which this year is
taking place on Friday 24 October at the City Hotel, Queens Quay, Derry.
The dinner is well recognised at a national and regional level as one of
the premier business occasions in the North West. It attracts a wide range of
guests representing the business, political, educational and social life of
the region.
Neil Holland, sales and marketing manager of firmus energy said, “During
the past two years, we have been working hard to bring the practical,
environmental and cost benefits to business and domestic customers across the
city. To date, we have laid 82km (51 miles) of main in Derry and are
continuing to develop the natural gas network in the area with the plan to lay
another 4km (2.5miles) of pipe in the city this year.
“This will bring tremendous benefits to homes and businesses in the town
which can enjoy significant cost savings compared to oil or LPG when they
switch to natural gas. In addition, customers can also benefit from decreasing
their carbon footprint which is an increasingly important consideration for
businesses today.
“firmus energy is delighted to be associated with the Chamber’s Annual
Dinner which is one of the highlights of the business calendar and we have
always found it to be a very interesting and enjoyable evening. We have
supported this event in previous years and have also committed to sponsor the
dinner in 2009 through a three year partnership deal with the Chamber,
launched last year.
“We look forward to developing our relationship with the local business
community and hope to provide a valuable service in the City for many years to
come.”
Ian Crowe, Chamber President, welcomed the support from firmus energy.
“We are delighted to be partnered with such a strong proactive company. Our
brand is so important that we think very carefully about who we work with.
Their massive investment in our infrastructure in the North West, coupled with
their strong commitment to quality and customer service makes them a good fit
with us. Our Annual Dinner is the premier business event in the region and it
is fitting that we have a premier company as a sponsor.”
firmus energy is bringing the cost and environmental benefits of natural
gas to customers in Derry, Limavady, Coleraine, Ballymoney, Ballymena, Antrim,
Craigavon, Lurgan Banbridge and Newry. The company also has plans to connect
customers in Armagh and Portadown later this year.
