Having recently secured tyre giant Michelin as its first major 'dual fuel' (gas and electricity) customer, firmus energy has set its sights on expanding its customer base in the Belfast competitive gas market, recently contracting with the Lagan Group and 3M.

firmus' dedicated Greater Belfast account team comprises Paul Stanfield and Des Connolly, who together have over 30 years' experience in the energy sector in Northern Ireland.

Paul commented on the company's recent success: "We are the only energy company who are actively offering gas and electricity contracts in Greater Belfast and throughout Northern Ireland. We signed up the first dual fuel customer in Greater Belfast and manage probably the largest dual fuel contract in Northern Ireland with Michelin. We already supply natural gas to local government organisations in towns such as Derry, Ballymena, Coleraine, Banbridge and Newry, and recently one of the local councils in Belfast has switched to firmus.

Councils who are going out to tender are seeking greater value for money in the current economic climate, and no doubt we will see more councils and businesses approaching us for a better deal.We have ambitious plans for gas competition in the Greater Belfast area and we are confident that firmus is offering the sort of energy solutions which businesses both need and want - so the future looks very exciting".
