Oil Price Commitment
Most homes switching to natural gas do so from oil and the key question they want answered is whether natural gas is cheaper than oil over the longer term. Uniquely in Northern Ireland, firmus energy has addressed this question by announcing a price commitment against home heating oil. Prices for heating oil across Northern Ireland differ depending upon where you buy it, how much you are ordering and how you pay for it - to work out average oil prices, we independently price check the price of heating oil across Northern Ireland every week.
Natural gas from firmus energy is cheaper than oil* and we will review our prices to ensure it continues to be cheaper. If our gas price has been higher than the average heating oil price over the previous 12 months, we will reduce our tariff. It's that simple.
