  1. contact firmus energy to check that your property can be connected for natural gas
    call the firmus energy Customer Careline on 08456 08 00 88 to arrange for an appointment with a sales person.

  2. contact your chosen installer
    refer to the firmus energy installers who have signed up to our customer charter list or contact Gas Safe on
    02890 246 782

    remember to get several installer quotations as a comparison ensure your installer is Gas Safe certified and ask to see their certificate. Your firmus energy representative will help you to appoint an installer if required.

  3. confirm the gas meter installation date
    once you are happy to proceed your firmus energy representative will complete a gas application form to open your account and they will agree a metre installation date. This process could take 30-60 days depending on the notice period required by the Department of Regional Development (Roads Division) to work on your road.

  4. progressing your installation process
    advise your installer of the meter installation date
    your installer should only proceed with the installation once the gas meter has been fitted check out the energy saving tips contained in the firmus energy introduction pack

  5. installation complete
    keep any emergency contact details safe
    if you smell gas, call the Northern Ireland Gas Emergency number on 0800 002 001
    ask your installer to show you how the system works so that you can minimise your energy usage

  6. return the top copy of your grant conversion form, together with a receipt from your installer as proof of payment, to firmus energy for processing
    please allow 3 weeks for payment to be returned. Your firmus energy representative will provide you with the paperwork and assist in its completion if required.
