corporate governance & regulation

firmus energy are the new supplier of natural gas to Northern Ireland. We are bringing natural gas to areas which haven't had it before; Derry, Limavady, Coleraine, Ballymoney, Ballymena, Antrim, Craigavon, Armagh, Banbridge and Newry. In March 2005, firmus energy was formally awarded supply and distribution licenses for the development of a natural gas network in ten key towns outside of Belfast, and in December of that year connected the first commercial customer, Michelin Tyres plc to the benefits of natural gas. We use the experience of our parent company, Bord Gáis Eireann who have been supplying natural gas to over 1/2million customers in Ireland over the last 20 years.

The natural gas industry is highly regulated. In this section you will find everything that you would want to know about how we are regulated.
